Justin BieberJustin Bieber has claimed he is retiring.

The 19-year-old star, who has caused controversy in recent months for antics including partying underage in nightclubs and spray-painting public property in Australia, is planning to take a break from the music industry when his new album, Journals, is released next week, and it could be permanent.

"After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring," the "Heartbreaker" hitmaker told radio station Power 106 in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He then suggested he hasn't quite made up his mind, adding, "I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature."

But the singer is no longer attracted to the idea of fame: "I'm here solely for my fans and for the music."

BeyonceBeyonce's surprise fifth album has become the fastest-selling record in iTunes history.

The self-titled record, which was released without any warning last week, shifting 828,773 copies in just three days. The majority of those sales came from America, where it has racked up 617,213 sales since Friday.

Beyonce's own first-week sales record was also broken, after her 2006 second record B'day sold 541,000 copies in seven days.

The "Love On Top" hitmaker stealth-released the record exclusively on iTunes, shocking fans by unveiling 14 new songs and 17 videos without any promotion.

The 31-year-old said she was inspired by Michael Jackson's Thriller video premiere in 1983, which is why she made such a "visual" record: "I miss that immersive experience. Now people only listen to a few seconds of a song on their iPods and they don't really invest in the whole experience. It's all about the single, and the hype. I felt like, I don't want anybody to get the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans."

George MichaelGeorge Michael has sparked rumours he's retiring after shutting down his website.

The "Careless Whisper" hitmaker has removed all content from georgemichael.com, including official merchandise, leaving fans worried about the star's health. The site's home page now features a closed red curtain but his representatives say there is, "Exciting news coming in 2014."

George, 50, suffered injuries after a near fatal car crash in May when he fell out the passenger seat of a Range Rover on a busy M1 motorway near St Albans, close to London. The star, who has also previously battled pneumonia, was airlifted to hospital - where he remained for two weeks - after suffering head injuries, cuts and bruises.

Despite his health problems, George signed a huge record deal with Universal Music last year but is yet to release a new album to follow his 2004 record Patience. He brought out a Greatest Hits album Twenty Five which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart in 2006 and hopes to record new music "very soon."

Noel GallagherNoel Gallagher thinks that Arcade Fire are "arrogant" for releasing a double album.

The "Everybody's On The Run" singer says he hasn't heard the band's new record Reflektor and he doesn't have time to listen to so many tracks. "I haven't heard it. Anybody that comes back with a double album, to me, needs to pry themselves out of their own a**hole. This is not the Seventies, okay? Go and ask Billy Corgan [The Smashing Pumpkins] about a double album. Who has the ####### time, in 2013, to sit through 45 minutes of a single album? How arrogant are these people to think that you've got an hour and a half to listen to a f**king record?" he told Rolling Stone.

The former Oasis guitarist, 45, said it was a "shame" David Bowie chose to work with the band on the record but hailed his comeback album The Next Day as a "masterpiece." He's also become a fan of Kanye West after hearing "Black Skinhead" at a party, but the musician thinks Robin Thicke is a "one-hit wonder" and his song "Blurred Lines" irritates him: "I don't mind it. It sounded good on the radio. Got a bit annoying after the five millionth time you've heard it. I think he's going to be a one-hit wonder, surely. It'll be like that guy who's done 'Gangnam Style' - we'll never hear from him again."

Britney SpearsBritney Spears is thinking about retiring after she completes her Las Vegas residency.

The "Work B***h" hitmaker, who has just released her eighth studio album Britney Jean, has revealed she might give up music after her two-year stint at Planet Hollywood and wants to expand her brood.

"I might [retire], who knows... I may have two more kids and get married... I'd like to have more kids," she said in an interview with Mario Lopez for Extra.

The 32-year-old has been dating lawyer David Lucado for eight months after splitting from then fiance Jason Trawick and has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, eight, and seven-year-old Jayden James. The Saved By The Bell star wanted to know if Britney wants girls or more boys, but the singer said "as long as they're healthy," she doesn't mind: "I think it does kind of help with dating someone not in the business, I could kinda understand if you're dating someone in the business they'd understand what you're going through every day and stuff. I feel like the chemistry kinda [sic] speaks for itself when you date someone out of the industry."
